About Trevor Harrison-Phipps (THP)
Is pain exacerbated by burnout and stress taking a toll on your well-being? Despite dedicating significant time and resources to improve your health, do you find yourself stuck without tangible progress?

Tired of hearing well-intentioned suggestions like "have you tried..." when you've explored numerous avenues without success?

Exhausted from seeking relief in various places that promised solutions, only to walk away feeling dissatisfied?

Do you sense that pain, aches and tight joints are restricting the scope of your life, making it challenging to pursue the fulfilling life you truly desire?

I'm delighted to welcome you here. Remarkably, you don't have to face the dilemma of choosing between enduring pain and fully immersing yourself in life. And here's something intriguing—I've personally navigated the challenges of pain and stress.

My journey through my twenties, following a back injury, unveiled the sensitivity of my body. Wrestling with a bulging disc and dislocated pelvis, I constantly sought ways to alleviate muscle spasms, pain, and coped with persistent fatigue.

Can you relate to these experiences? After enduring years of chronic pain and experimenting with various methods to alleviate it, I reached a low point. Pushing beyond my limits took a toll, resulting in exhaustion and early signs of burnout. Determined to uncover the root cause, I embarked on a personal quest, sparking my deep interest in back health, body functionality, and the intricate connection between the mind and body.

As my back and body grew stronger and more resilient, my curiosity led me to explore further. I immersed myself in the realm of chronic pain, developing a system that not only made me fit and strong enough to become a personal trainer but also allowed me to work tirelessly with numerous clients, uncovering invaluable insights along the way.

Fast forward a few years, and I've had the privilege of transforming many lives, equipping them with the tools to take control of their back pain and lives through my 'Smart Programs' tailored for individuals dealing with chronic pain.
I wasn't able to play with my kids, couldn't do the things I loved like play tennis. I looked: at the impact on my work, my family and my body. I became depressed and trapped in my own body.
The repercussions of my back pain extended far beyond the physical realm, affecting my ability to engage fully with my children and pursue activities I loved, profoundly impacting my mental health.
I found myself diminishing who I was leading to a gradual erosion of my self-confidence and tenacity.
As the grip of back pain tightened, my mental clarity suffered. I grappled with a foggy brain and experienced an array of symptoms, from tight hamstrings, vertebrae movement in my spine and headaches to chronic neck and joint pain. The toll on my body was unmistakable, reflecting the undeniable impact of stress on my overall well-being.

The inability to play with my kids and partake in activities I cherished became stark indicators of the profound influence of back pain on both my physical and mental health.
I've heard it so many times when stress and pain reaches its peak, myself and clients in a familiar place: had the medical appointments.
You have a bulging disc, degenerative disc disease, arthrituis in the joints.

All those years ago I heard these words from my doctors and they reviewed my x-rays and an MRI. you need a back operation, I was in fear as are some of my clients a “faulty part” in my body that would never get better and only get worse with age.

Just like my patients, I looked to the same medical system for answers only to be told take the tablets of have the surgery.
Feeling like the tests and x-rays couldn’t tell my story.

The Doctors didn't really understand my symtoms and referred only to my tissues and discs, but never my movements, how my body functioned.

I knew something was missing in their approach. They created fear in me about my body. Have you felt this way too?

Starting with medical appointments and physical therapy, Osreopaths seemed to make sense at the time.
I needed to learn about my diagnosis and fix it! But in hindsight, this wasn’t enough.
My experience was entering “chronic” territory and I could feel my body becoming more sensitive, my back muscles become trigger happy to go into spasms even by brushing my teeth.
The doctors didn’t inquire about how often I was thinking about my pain, fearing my back pain, or avoiding my favorite activities.
Luckily, now I know enough about managing the body and retraining the body to function pain free, Hello pain fighting coach!!!
Now I can implement my skills on my own clients so they don't have to go through what I did.

Everything changed when I realised this truth. I saw both my physical and mental fear of pain subside.

In real time I began taking notes on what triggered my back spasms, learnt why I needed a strong core (not just abdominals) to support my spine. With strong core muscles this gave my body the confidence to work without spasms and keep my skelton in its correct position.

…And that is how I became a personal trainer.

I’ve honed my skills with education and experience so I can impact men and women to ease their pain, change their behaviors, and reshape their lives to match what they really want.
As a trainer, I help men and women look at their symptoms, so that they can retrain their bodies to lead a more fulfilling life.
I believe that there is a way to stop struggling with your pain and strengthen your body, retrain how you use it to lead a life that is bigger than your pain.

Let’s stay connected.
